  • Heat oven to 400ºF.
  • Combine first 5 ingredients. Whisk eggs, buttermilk and oil in large bowl until blended. Add to flour mixture; stir just until moistened. (Batter will be lumpy.) Stir in remaining ingredients.
  • Spoon into 12 muffin pan cups sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Bake 15 min. or until toothpick inserted in centres comes out clean. Cool in pan 5 min. Remove to wire rack; cool slightly.


Substitute 1 Tbsp. chopped jalapeño peppers for the crushed red pepper. Add to egg mixture along with the flour mixture.


These savoury muffins freeze well. Cool completely, then place in resealable freezer-weight plastic bag. Freeze up to 3 months. When ready to serve, thaw muffins at room temperature, then microwave on microwaveable plate on MEDIUM 45 sec. or just until muffins are warmed.
