  • Heat 2 tsp. oil in Dutch oven or large saucepan on medium heat. Add celery, onions and carrots; cook 5 min. or until crisp-tender, stirring frequently. Remove vegetables from pan; reserve for later use.
  • Toss meat, in small batches, with corn starch. Heat remaining oil in Dutch oven. Add meat in batches; cook 3 to 4 min. or until evenly browned, stirring frequently. Return all meat to pan along with the cooked vegetables.
  • Add tomato juice, wine, broth, Worcestershire sauce and tomato paste; mix well. Bring to boil, stirring frequently to scrape browned bits from bottom of pan; cover. Simmer on medium-low heat 45 min. Stir in mushrooms; simmer, uncovered, 15 min.

Substitute

Substitute additional chicken broth for the wine.
