  • Heat greased barbecue to medium heat.
  • Cut cheese slices in half. Fold 6 cheese pieces crosswise in half to make small squares.
  • Mix meat, bread crumbs, ketchup, mustard, relish, bacon, onions and egg just until blended; shape into 12 (1/4-inch-thick) patties. Place 1 cheese square on centre of each of 6 patties; cover with remaining patties. Press edges together to seal.
  • Grill 6 to 7 min. on each side or until done (160°F). Top with remaining cheese. Add buns, cut sides down, to barbecue. Grill 1 min. or until cheese is melted and buns are lightly toasted. Serve in buns.

Serving Suggestion

Place lettuce leaves on bottom halves of buns before covering with burgers; top with additional ketchup, mustard and relish. Cover with tops of buns.

Italian-Stuffed Cheesy Burgers

Prepare recipe as directed, using Cracker Barrel Mozzarella Cheese Slices, and substituting chopped fresh basil and sun-dried tomatoes for the mustard and relish.
