  • Microwave chocolate and whipping cream in large microwaveable bowl on MEDIUM 2 to 3 min. or until chocolate is completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring after 1-1/2 min. Cool slightly. Gradually add icing sugar, beating on high speed until well blended and of desired spreading consistency.
  • Use a serrated knife to cut off top one third of cake. Set top aside. Place bottom of cake on large serving platter; spread with chocolate frosting. Scatter candies and some of the coins around cake as desired. Replace top of cake; spread with the remaining chocolate frosting.
  • Decorate with remaining candies. Sprinkle wafer crumbs onto plate to resemble sand. Arrange any remaining coins and candy in "sand." Store in refrigerator.

How to Frost A Cake

If the cake is very soft and crumbly, apply a “crumb coating” to prevent cake crumbs from mixing with the frosting. Spread a thin layer of frosting over the entire cake, then let stand 5 to 10 min. or until frosting is set. Spread remaining frosting over cake.

Cooking Know-How

Make sure cakes are completely cooled before frosting. A warm cake can cause the frosting to soften or melt.

I made this for my grandaughter last year and it was a big hit. I just changed the colours and candies. My youngest grandaughter has just requested it for her birthday tomorrow. Thanks Kraft Kitchens!

I found this easy to make. The kids enjoyed the money rather than the cake.
