  • COAT stewing beef with flour. Heat 1 Tbsp (15 mL) oil in frypan and brown meat; set aside.
  • PLACE 3 Tbsp (45 mL) oil in a large pot. Add chopped carrots and celery stalks and diced onion. Cook over low heat for 5 minutes.
  • ADD cooked beef and beef broth, beer and barbecue sauce; stir. Cover and simmer for approximately 1 hour or until meat is tender.

    Flavourful and hearty, yet simple and quick to make. I added some cubed potatoes to the recipe and reduced the meat. The BBQ sauce flavour was overwhelming when first mixed together and I was a little apprehensive but the end result was a rich, zesty fusion that was well balanced. Even my husband wants me to make this again.
