This quick-and-easy fish recipe is virtually foolproof since the fish is broiled instead of fried. And the fresh asparagus spears broiled along with the fish gets its perfect flavour accent from the lemon zest.

  • Heat broiler.
  • Place fish and asparagus on rimmed baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Broil, 6 inches from heat, 3 min. Meanwhile, mix Miracle Whip and 2 tsp. lemon juice.
  • Spread fish with Miracle Whip mixture; top with cheese. Broil 2 to 4 min. or until fish flakes easily with fork and cheese is golden brown. Transfer fish to platter; cover to keep warm. Broil asparagus additional 4 to 6 min. or until crisp-tender.
  • Transfer asparagus to platter with fish. Drizzle fish with remaining lemon juice; top with lemon zest and nuts.

Since broilers vary among ovens, you may need to adjust your oven rack for proper cooking of this fish recipe. If the fish is browning too quickly, move the oven rack to a lower position. Or move it to a higher rack if the fish is cooking too slowly.

Serving Suggestion

Serve with a simple watercress salad.

Prepare using your favourite whitefish fillets, such as haddock.
