This pork roast is marinated before roasting until very tender with a mahogany finish. The flavourful marinade is the perfect complement to the rich pork flavour.

  • Mix all ingredients except meat and sesame seed until blended; pour over meat in large bowl. Turn to evenly coat meat with ketchup mixture. Refrigerate 1 hour to marinate.
  • Heat oven to 375ºF. Remove pork from marinade; reserve marinade. Place meat on rack in roasting pan. Bake 1 hour. After about 50 min., bring reserved marinade to boil in saucepan; simmer on medium-low heat 5 min., stirring occasionally.
  • Brush meat with about half of the cooked marinade. Bake 45 min. to 1 hour or until done (160ºF), brushing frequently with remaining marinade. Remove from oven. Heat broiler.
  • Broil meat, 6 inches from heat, 5 min. or until well browned. Sprinkle with sesame seed. Let stand 10 min. before slicing to serve.

Serving Suggestion

Serve on a bed of hot cooked greens, such as Swiss chard or bok choy.

Cool, then refrigerate any leftovers. Shred or cut meat into bite-size pieces, then add to your favourite stir-fry or fried rice recipe.
