  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • Line 17x11-1/2x3/4-inch pan with foil, with ends of foil extending over sides. Spray with cooking spray. Microwave chocolate and butter in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min. or until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted and mixture is well blended. Add flour, 2 cups sugar, 3 eggs and 1 tsp. vanilla; mix well. Pour into prepared pan.
  • Beat cream cheese and remaining sugar in medium bowl until blended. Add remaining egg and vanilla; mix well. Spoon evenly over brownie batter; spread to completely cover brownie batter.
  • Mix jam and orange juice until blended. Drop spoonfuls of jam mixture over cream cheese layer; swirl gently with knife.
  • Bake 30 to 32 min. or until toothpick inserted in centre comes out with fudgy crumbs. (Do not overbake.) Cool completely. Use foil handles to remove brownie from pan. Cut into 40 heart shapes with 2-inch cookie cutter. Discard trimmings or reserve for another use. (See tip.)

How to Use the Brownie Scraps

Cut the brownie trimmings into bite-size pieces. Freeze in freezer-weight resealable plastic bags up to 3 months. Thaw overnight, then layer with prepared Jell-O Chocolate or Vanilla Instant Pudding, thawed Cool Whip Whipped Topping and fresh raspberries in serving bowl or dessert dishes for a simple, yet delicious, trifle.


Prepare using your favourite flavour of fruit jam.
