Make It

  • Heat oven to 350°F.

  • Layer half each of the macaroni, Velveeta and cheddar in 13x9-inch baking dish sprayed with cooking spray. Whisk egg and milk until blended; pour half over ingredients in baking dish. Repeat with remaining macaroni, Velveeta, cheddar and milk mixture.

  • Sprinkle with paprika.

  • Bake 30 min. or until macaroni mixture is heated through and top is golden brown, stirring after 30 min.

    For a festive look, add 2 cups chopped mixed red and green peppers, layering 1 cup of the peppers over each layer of macaroni.

This was a good quick and easy recipe. Is somewhat lacking in a thick cheesy flavour which I want in a homemade macaroni and cheese, but was otherwise great.

I made Mary's macaroni & cheese for dinner tonight. It was delicious and easy to make....I added some chopped crunchy bacon and some parmesan & garlic crouton's crumbled for the top. I will certainly make this one again!!!

Easy to make and it makes plenty for leftovers. I added more of the cheddar cheese and used smoked paprika and it work out great !

Just made this tonight and it was a hit with my boyfriend who doesn't even like mac and cheese. I also added a bit of cayenne pepper on top when I added the paprika. Also, we crushed up some ritz crackers and stirred in some melted butter and sprinkled on top for a bit of crunch. We didn't put the crackers on till the last 15 min.

This recipe is excellent! Smooth and creamy mac and cheese, yummy!! Here's a little tip from our family - my mom always topped her mac and cheese with graham crumbs instead of bread crumbs. Sounds odd, but the little bit of sweetness goes so well with mac and cheese! Not too much, just a little sprinkling all over the top - try it, you'll like it :)

this was very good ,much easier to make than the kind where you make a cheese sauce first.I used all cheddar cheese grated.I drained my macaroni,put it back in the pot,mixed my cheese, egg and milk,in with macaroni in pot.Then put it in casserole and topped with grated cheddar,baked at 350 for 25-30min. This is easier than all that layering and stirring and tastes very good!I'm making it again tonight.Thanks for the recipe was looking for one that was just like my Nanny made.

Love this recipe! Very easy to make. I made the mistake of not adding enough milk because I thought it called for too much. Turned out too dry that way. Follow the recipe! I add in a little more extra cheddar cheese just because we like our m&c to be really cheesy.

Fabulous...I used whole wheat pasta instead and made it ahead of time. Just layer according to the recipe but don't add the milk mix. Pour it over just before you pop it in the oven.

A wonderfully easy recipe! It turned out so good that there weren't very many leftovers! Had lots of flavor and was really creamy.
