  • Crush strawberries, one layer at a time. Measure exactly 2-1/2 cups prepared strawberries into large bowl. Peel and mash bananas. Measure exactly 1 cup prepared bananas into bowl with strawberries. Add sugar; mix well. Let stand 10 min., stirring occasionally.
  • Add liquid pectin and lemon juice to fruit mixture; stir 3 min. or until sugar is dissolved and no longer grainy. (A few sugar crystals may remain.)
  • Fill all containers immediately to within 1/2 inch of tops. Wipe off top edges of containers; immediately cover with lids. Let stand at room temperature 24 hours or until set. Refrigerate or freeze no-cook jams.

Bruised, overripe or blemished fruit should not be used when making homemade jam. For best results, use fruits at their peak of ripeness.

No-cook jams can be stored in the freezer for up to 1 year. Remove from freezer and let thaw in the refrigerator. Once thawed, no-cook jams will last 3 weeks in the refrigerator.

How to Accurately Measure the Sugar

To ensure accuracy of the sugar measure when preparing jams or jellies, use a dry measuring cup to measure the sugar, then place all the measured sugar in a separate bowl before adding it to the fruit mixture in bowl.
