  • Mix first 4 ingredients until blended; pour over fish in shallow dish. Stir to evenly coat fish.
  • Refrigerate 1 hour to marinate.
  • Heat greased barbecue to medium-high heat. Remove fish from marinade; discard marinade. Thread fish and onions alternately onto 8 skewers.
  • Grill 2 to 3 min. on each side or until fish flakes easily with fork.

Shortcut

Substitute 1-1/2 tsp. ground ginger for the grated gingerroot.

Note

If using wooden skewers, soak them in water before using to help prevent them from burning on the barbecue.
