The reason I gave this a high rating was helped along with JanetCS tip below. She suggested using 3/4 cup of oil and adding 3/4 cup of buttermilk. The result was wonderful, the cake did not have the oily texture. For those of you who don't have buttermilk on hand - 3/4 cup whole mild adding 1 tbsp. of vinegar or lemon juice.
This is an amazing recipe, I have altered it a bit by putting less oil, 3/4 cup of oil and adding 3/4 cup of buttermilk or Kaffir . Less calories but still moist and delicious.
