Asparagus spears snap off naturally where they are tough. Simply bend the spear near the bottom end and it will break off at the right point. Or, remove an inch or so of the "woody" portion off the bottom of the stalks with a sharp knife.

Marinated the chicken in Caesar salad dressing, blanched the asparagus , used smoked Gouda served with my special
rice & side of asparagus IT WAS AMAZING
Delicious! My family absolutely loved this. I actually tweaked the recipe a little by mixing Miracle Whip with the Parmesan cheese for the topping, and added in cayenne pepper. Just for some extra flavor!
It was great. I added fresh garlic inside and sprinkled some garlic powder on top. Going to make it again really soon
