  • MEASURE prepared fruit in a large saucepan.
  • ADD sugar to fruit and mix well.
  • PLACE saucepan over high heat. Bring to a full rolling boil and boil hard 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.
  • IMMEDIATELY stir in fruit pectin.
  • STIR and skim for 7 minutes to prevent floating fruit.
  • POUR quickly into warm, sterilized jars filling up to 1/4 inch from rim.
  • SEAL while hot with sterilized 2-piece lids with new centres.

    I had been given baskets of plums from a neighbour and had no idea what to do....until I found this recipe. This was the first time I had made jam and I found the whole process very easy. The jam was great!!Everyone loved the jam, even my husband who isn't that fond of plums said I could make it again.
