  • Heat oven to 400ºF.
  • Toss fruit with lemon juice; spoon into 8-inch square baking dish sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Combine oats, flour, nuts, sugar replacement and spices in large bowl. Add margarine; mix with your fingers until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over fruit.
  • Bake 50 to 55 min. or until golden brown. Serve warm topped with Cool Whip.

Substitute

Substitute Golden Delicious apples for the pears.

    It all depends on the freshness and sweetness of the pears and plums. I tried the recipe using margarine and another with butter. Both worked out well. Do not over power with cinnamon or cardamom. Make it exactly to the recipe and then modifiy next time to your families tastes.

    This recipe answered my question of what to do with a couple of pears I needed to use up. Substituted some frozen peaches I had (thawed and drained) for the plums that I didn't have. Excellent taste, a change from apple crisp.
