Serve up our super-moist pumpkin spice cake frosted with our Philadelphia Cream Cheese Whipped Frosting. This dessert is quick enough to throw together for a casual afternoon snack cake, but just as easily fits in as a moist and delicious addition to a holiday dessert buffet or potluck. The canned pumpkin creates a moist cake and the frosting seals in all that moisture for a tender delicious result. The flavour combination of pumpkin pie spice, pumpkin and cream cheese frosting is an all-time favourite in our test kitchen and we know it will be in your kitchen, too.

  • Heat oven to 350ºF.
  • Combine first 5 ingredients. Whisk eggs and oil in large bowl until blended. Add sugar; mix well. Stir in pumpkin. Gradually add flour mixture, mixing well after each addition. Stir in nuts.
  • Pour into greased and floured 9-inch square pan.
  • Bake 30 to 35 min. or until toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean. Cool cake in pan 10 min. Loosen cake from sides of pan with knife. Invert cake onto wire rack; gently remove pan. Cool cake completely.
  • Transfer cake to plate. Spread frosting onto top and sides of cake.

Special Extra

Sprinkle with additional chopped pecans and pumpkin pie spice before serving.
