  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • Combine baking crumbs and butter; press onto bottom of 9-inch springform pan.
  • Beat cream cheese and sugar in large bowl with mixer until blended. Add chocolate; mix well. Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing on low speed after each just until blended; pour over crust.
  • Bake 40 min. or until centre is almost set. Run knife around rim of pan to loosen cake; cool before removing rim. Refrigerate cheesecake 4 hours.
  • Spread caramel sauce over cheesecake just before serving; sprinkle with salt.

Important Note

For best results, prepare using a thick caramel sauce or butterscotch sauce, or dulce de leche. Do not use caramel syrup since the thinner sauce could produce less than desirable results.

Size Wise

Dessert can be part of a balanced diet but remember to keep tabs on portions.

Made this for a group of friends, and it was a HUGE hit!! I used dulce de leche for the topping, and it worked perfectly. This recipe is a definite winner!

Great recipe! Made it for a work celebration and had to substitute butterscotch sauce. My work colleagues gave it rave reviews.
