  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • Combine flour and baking powder. Beat butter and sugar in large bowl with mixer until blended. Add peanut butter, melted chocolate and vanilla; mix well. Beat in eggs, 1 at a time. Gradually add flour mixture, mixing well after each addition. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
  • Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough, 2 inches apart, onto parchment-covered baking sheet; press lightly with fingers to flatten slightly. Sprinkle with salt.
  • Bake 10 to 11 min. or just until centres of cookies are set. Cool 2 min. Transfer to wire racks; cool completely.

How to Freeze the Cookie Dough

Freeze rounded tablespoonfuls of cookie dough on baking sheet for 1 hour. Transfer to airtight plastic container or freezer-weight resealable plastic bag. Freeze up to 1 month. Place frozen cookie dough, 2 inches apart, on baking sheets. Bake in 350°F oven 18 to 20 min. or until cookies are puffed and feel set to the touch.

Make Ahead

These cookies can be baked ahead of time. Cool completely, then wrap in plastic wrap and place in airtight container or freezer-weight resealable plastic bag. Freeze up to 1 month. Thaw at room temperature before serving.

Note

To avoid a thin dough, be sure to use slightly (not completely) softened butter when preparing the dough. Do not melt the butter before using.
