  • Then follow our 3 simple steps:

  • Add cubes of stewing beef (two pounds for 4) and 1 chopped onion to slow cooker container.
  • Add chopped vegetables and sauces (1 cup each) to meat mixture.
  • Cover and cook on low heat for 6 to 7 hours or until vegetables and beef are tender. Finish with the serving suggestions.

Ingredients can be prepared the night before and refrigerated in the stoneware bowl. In the morning, simply place bowl in heating base and turn on to desired setting to cook.

    A little too much liquid. Adding a thickener near the end would be good. Also works really well as a quick in-the-pan meal.

    I made the option with mushrooms and green beans and found the BBQ sauce too overpowering so would recommend to use less or substitute for a milder tasting BBQ sauce.

    I made the variation with the red wine, and I thought there was too much bbq sauce. I might try it with beef broth and wine, and use a method from another recipe I recently tried to thicken the gravy a bit. The meat was very very tender though and with some tweaking this has lots of potential.
