  • Place onions and garlic in slow cooker. Add broth.
  • Combine next 4 ingredients; rub onto meat. Place in slow cooker; cover with lid.
  • Cook on LOW 8 to 10 hours (or on HIGH 5 to 6 hours). Remove meat from slow cooker, leaving sauce in slow cooker. Remove and discard any large pieces of fat from meat. Shred meat with 2 forks.
  • Return meat to slow cooker. Stir in barbecue sauce. Cook, covered, on LOW 15 min.

Make Ahead

This flavourful meat can be prepared ahead of time. Cool, then refrigerate up to 2 days. Reheat in microwave or on stove top just before serving.
