Smoky barbecue sauce is mixed with brown sugar, chili powder and lime juice to make the simple, yet flavourful, glaze for this delicious grilled salmon.

  • Heat greased barbecue to medium heat.
  • Brush salmon with oil. Grill 4 min.
  • Meanwhile, microwave remaining ingredients in microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min., stirring after each minute.
  • Turn salmon. Reserve half the barbecue sauce mixture for later use; brush remaining barbecue sauce mixture onto salmon. Grill 3 to 4 min. or until salmon flakes easily with fork.
  • Brush salmon with reserved barbecue sauce mixture before serving.


While lime juice is the perfect flavour accent for this grilled salmon, you can instead prepare this recipe using fresh lemon juice.

Special Extra

Garnish the grilled salmon with fresh basil. Serve with lemon and/or lime wedges for squeezing over the fish.

Serving Suggestion

Serve with a side of steamed fresh asparagus or green beans.
