  • SLIP skins from grapes. Add 1/2 cup water to pulp; bring to a boil and simmer, covered, 5 minutes. Sieve to remove seeds. Chop skins finely and add to pulp.
  • MEASURE 5 cups prepared fruit into large saucepan. Add spices.
  • ADD sugar to fruit and mix well.
  • PLACE saucepan over high heat and bring to a full rolling boil and boil hard 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.
  • IMMEDIATELY stir in pectin. Stir and skim foam with metal spoon for 5 minutes to prevent floating fruit.
  • POUR quickly into warm, sterilized jars, filling up to 1/4 inch from rim. Seal while hot with sterilized 2-piece lids with new centres.

Substitute 1 tbsp grated orange or lemon rind for spices, if desired.

Great taste...family loves the flavour. This recipe is easy to make. Yield- I got 3 - 500ml jars & 3 - 250ml jars. I like the smaller jars for gifts and the larger for my family. Tip best to let jelly sit for 24 hours with out moving jars to make sure the jelly sets and is not runny.

An easy to make jam. I used my juicer to strain the seeds from the pulp of the grapes which was much quicker rather than boiling the pulp firts.
