I would suggest some grated ginger root for added flavor to the pudding.
I used this recipe as a base - I couldn't find spice cake mix so I used a golden cake and added cinnamon & nutmeg. I also used plums and nectarines in place of the pears, but otherwise I followed the directions and though it looked a little different than the picture it tased great!
