  • Prepare cake mix as directed on package; cool completely. Cut into 1/2-inch cubes.
  • Pour milk into large bowl. Add dry pudding mixes and the cinnamon. Beat with wire whisk 2 min. or until well blended. Gently stir in 2 cups of the whipped topping. Layer one-third each of the cake cubes, pears and pudding mixture in 3-L serving bowl; repeat layers twice.
  • Refrigerate 1 hour or until ready to serve. Top with the remaining whipped topping. Store leftover dessert in refrigerator.

Special Extra

Garnish with toasted chopped pecans or walnuts.

    trifle with a difference. I would suggest some grated ginger root for added flavor to the pudding.

    I used this recipe as a base - I couldn't find spice cake mix so I used a golden cake and added cinnamon & nutmeg. I also used plums and nectarines in place of the pears, but otherwise I followed the directions and though it looked a little different than the picture it tased great!
