This shrimp dish is a true winner. Ripe tomatoes, tender shrimp and spicy crushed red pepper all team up to create this fresh and flavourful appetizer that's perfect for serving with crusty bread. It's a great way to use all your summer garden tomatoes.

  • Heat dressing in large skillet on medium-high heat. Add onions and garlic; cook and stir 5 min. or until onions are crisp-tender. Add tomatoes, 2 Tbsp. parsley, sugar and pepper flakes; cook and stir 5 to 6 min. or until tomatoes are softened.
  • Add shrimp and cheese; cook and stir 4 min. or until shrimp turn pink.
  • Sprinkle with remaining parsley.


Substitute 2 drained cans (28 fl oz/796 mL each) no-salt-added diced tomatoes for the fresh tomatoes.

Serving Suggestion

Serve with crusty Italian bread for dipping.

Special Extra

Prepare recipe as directed. Meanwhile, cook 220 g linguine or spaghetti as directed on package, omitting salt. Toss drained cooked pasta with shrimp mixture before serving. Makes 4 main-dish servings.
