Make It

  • Place potatoes in 2-L microwaveable dish. Add water; cover with lid. Microwave on HIGH 12 to 15 min. or just until potatoes are tender; drain. Place in large bowl.

  • Refrigerate 1 hour or until completely cooled.

  • Mix Miracle Whip and dressing until blended. Add to potatoes with remaining ingredients; mix lightly.

    When cooking potatoes for a potato salad, remember that the potatoes will continue to cook even after you have drained them. As soon as the cooked potatoes are fork tender, drain them, then run them under cold water to quickly cool them. When in doubt, it is better to undercook the potatoes rather than overcooking them.


    Prepare using your favourite Kraft Shredded Cheese, such as Double Cheddar Shredded Cheese, Tex-Mex Shredded Cheese or Habanero Heat Shredded Cheese.

Awesome potato salad, one of the best. I added hard boiled eggs too. I have been making it since last year and it is always popular at barbecues.


This was a huge success! My kids loved it. I used white potatoes and non-fat miracle whip dressing with calorie wise Kraft Caesar dressing. Will be making it again very soon!

I had read others saying it was a bit bland, so I added Mrs. Dash seasoning and garlic powder to the potatoes before cooking them in the microwave. Turned out great!

Great recipe and very easy to make it healthier with low fat mayo, cheese and dressing with turkey bacon. Delicious! I only had caesar dressing on hand and it turned out great. :-)


Everyone loved it! Just remember that the water is for cooking the potatoes, not for the dressing. It's also great if you substitute the green onions for red onions. Also, you can add dill, salt and pepper is you wish. It's also great to bring to a pot luck dinner. You can also make a broccoli salad with all the same ingredients: broccoli, red onions, cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, mayo and sugar. It's so simple to make both at the same time and bring over to someone's house. It sure beats the traditional potato salad and is lower in fat as well. You can buy no fat dressing and mayo.

The water is for cooking the potatoes, not to mix in the salad.


This recipe was easy to make. I think it needed more of the ranch flavour so in the future I'd probably either delete the water or just add another 1/2 cup of ranch. It presented very well and was popular but just not as flavourful as I'd hoped.
