I used graham wafers for the crust. The cream cheese filling with the cool whip makes it delicious. Very good refreshing dessert.

I had to modify this as my cousin has a strawberry allergy but has a passion for cherries. I substituted part of a recipe for cherry cola salad for the topping, which uses pie filling, water, cherry Jell-o, and cola. For the crust I increased the butter for structural reasons and eliminated the sugar and the baking step, because I felt there would be plenty of sugar in the other two layers. It was a hit! Other than the crust modification I would not hesitate to follow this to the letter. The salt in the pretzel bottom compliments the sweetness in the other two layers beautifully. Another "WIN" for Kraft!

it's one of the staples in my kitchen - when we want something that's fresh and rich in taste and easy to make, this one is the one. I just add the strawberries and the jell-o at different times, because I like it more when the jell-o is completely transparent and smooth. it's nice jewel-like, too, with the strawberries mixed in the jell-o, but you might want to try it with them separate, too.

I've made this several times now and it's always a huge hit! Tried it with lime jello and CANNED (not fresh or it won't set) pineapple, it was fantastic!!

It was great and and everyone loved it!As a matter of fact it becomes the favorite especially during the strawberry and raspberry season. I used both fresh berries.

08/16/2011

I'm confused... do you let the jello completely set before your add the strawberries? And do you just add graham cracker crumbs and butter for the alternate crust?

Looks great when made, not to sweet.

A great summer dessert! Next time will try it with the suggested Oreo crumb base instead of pretzels.

Very good, looks very pretty when finished. Took other readers advice and used a box of crushed up Oreo cookies for the base - chocolate and strawberries go well together.

It was a big hit at my house over the Victoria Day Weekend.

05/20/2009

Very good & you can save a few more calories(I don't know how many)by using low fat cream cheese & low calory Cool Whip. Don't tell anyone & they'll never know the difference!!

04/23/2009

Excellent for a summer dessert when the fresh strawberries are in season. I made it last summer and it was a great hit and have made it several times.

We made this recipe with salted pretzels because it wasn't indicated to use unsalted...we will be sure to do so the next time we make it.

This was a hit with my co-workers, the key is in finely crushing the pretzels, I founds, my family was horrified when I made it, maybe it works for mature palates.

08/29/2007

I didn't like the pretzel base,it didn't seem to match the Jello or cream cheese. I used the Oreo cookie crumbs instead. Now it is to die for, change the rating to 5 stars!!!

These were easy to make, and looked really good, but I was disappointed with the taste. I think the pretzel base was a mismatch with the rest of the square.

07/09/2007

Delicious! I took suggestions and made the crust with graham cracker crumbs instead. So easy to make. I made it a day ahead and left it in the fridge overnight. It made for easy lifting next day. Tasted like a mini-cheesecake square. Would definetely make them again. Definite Crowd Pleaser.

I made this recipe with graham crumbs per some commentors suggestions & it turned out great! The preparations took some time, but overall it was very easy to make. I would definitely make this again:)

Cool! My grandkids and son in law said "Grandma can you bring this everytime you come for supper," Make ahead and its easy to transport.Strawberry season is here again and I will make it for this Easter time.I use the graham wafer crust.

04/11/2006

Excellent. I have made these for years as a salad or a dessert. Many good comments. When using frozen strawberries cut back on the water used in the jello or they will be very wet.

01/16/2006

I made these for a pot luck. They were a big hit. Had to write out the recipe for a lot of people.

11/04/2005

This was so easy to make, a little time consuming but worth the time, definately!!! My family loved the cheese-cake like texture/flavor with the fruit/jello mixture. I am going to try it with peaches next time. Thank-you, it was a huge hit!! Absolutely fabulous!!! Thank-you! Thank-you!

07/08/2005

This was fabulous, I took it to a potluck and got rave reviews. It's very refreshing, and the pretzels give it a unique taste. My only problem was that my crust fell apart in places...not enough margarine?

10/13/2005

Very time consuming. I found it difficult to grind pretzels into crumbs

10/13/2005

AWESOME... It is the first dessert I have ever tried. And it turned out great. My friends loved it. I am very encouraged.

08/04/2005

Very good. Tasted better the next day.

07/14/2005

Looked nice but my family was not really keen on the salt of the pretzels in the crust against the sweet of the cream cheese and strawberries. If I made it again I would substitute a graham cracker or shortbread crust instead.

07/06/2005

Excellent!!

06/16/2005

Awesome! Never thought pretzels would be so good in a dessert like this. Flavourful combination.

06/08/2005
