My husband and I love this soup; I don't care for black beans and substitute 3 - 14 oz cans of pinto beans. On a cold winter night this is real comfort food. I serve it with crusty buns for a perfect easy meal.

I always use ground turkey and LOVE it. I do add a little more water though so it's not quite so chili like.

I have done a vegetarian version w/o the hamburger. I have also added carrots and black olives. It's a great recipe when you are trying to lose weight. It makes an excellent low calorie meal.

Kids loved it

I was skeptical at first but I loved this recipe. If you need to just add more water to make it soupier.

This was such a great meal in a soup. Everyone loved it

Loved this soup!

We loved this soup! First batch disappeared so quickly that I had to make a 2nd batch three days later.

such an easy recipe and good for one person so I freeze in containers and make a meal easily with some bread, suits me just fine.

Make this all the time ~ kids love it. I make it on weekends when I don't feel like cooking.

It was good but more like watery chili than soup.

Delicious! I used only one can of beans and added some diced green pepper and 1/2 cup salsa. I also used at least a cup more water than called for to get a "soup" consistency instead of a "stew", but will definitely be making again!

Both my girls, who usually never agree on anything, ate this soup contentedly. A winner!

Correction for my comment below 2 DASHES of cayanne (not tbsps!)

I have made this soup many times. I substitute turkey for the ground beef for a slightly leaner version. A favourite in our house!

I have made this recipe many times not only for ourselves but for family and friends. Everyone absolutely loves it. I have never gotten a negative response. It is so flavourful. I do use Hot and Spicy Taco seasoning mix rather than regular

If your a soup person this is a keeper. We loved it. Loved the taco flavoring in this recipe.

Absolutely FABULOUS! We are an athletic family and mindful of what we eat. This recipe meets all of our needs. Very quick and easy to make. I used the two cans of black beans and it was very tasty! Definitely a keeper!!

Found that this recipe was good, but the next day it thickened so much it was like a chili.

This was so good!! My whole family loved it!! I used a 5 bean blend, instead of plain black bean. I also added green and red peppers. Makes great leftovers and tastes better the day after.

I've made 3 batches to freeze. I only used 1 tin of black beans which is all that's needed. 5 stars for a quick, easy, convenient, tasty meal. Thank-you for this great recipe.

This was a real crowd pleaser. I added sliced avacados, shredded cheese, a dollop of sour cream and a squeeze of lime to top it off....delicious. We also dipped tortilla chips for added crunch and flavour.

was quick easy and delicious!! i made this for my inlaws and they loved it! my mother in law is the soup queen so her asking me for the recipe ill take that as a complimant!

This has become a family favorite. Even my husband likes it and he's not a soup fan?

A great crowd pleaser, break up multigrain nacho chips on top for crunch.

Yummy and Easy......two great words when describing dinner. We also only use 1 can of black beans and it is perfect. Everyone in the house loves it

Very good, very tasty, only added one can of black beans and that was plenty for my family, simmered for about an hour.
