How to Serve Chilled Vegetable Salads

Vegetable salads are best served crisp and cold. To keep the salad chilled before serving, place the filled serving bowl in a larger bowl filled with crushed ice. Then, spoon into chilled bowls to serve.

Special Extra

Add 4 cups loosely packed torn lettuce or spinach leaves and/or 1/4 cup raisins to salad just before serving.

Fantastic! I have been making this for years. I haven't tried it with the almonds, but that does sound good too. I have tried adding Craisins and sunflower seeds which was also tasty.

My Guests loved it. Added little bits of cheddar cheese as well.

I have been making this recipe for 20 plus years, i add toasted Almonds and red grapes but love some of the other ideas like adding cranberries, perfect for this time of year. I think I will give some of the other versions a try.
