  • Heat oil in large saucepan on medium heat. Add carrots and onions; cook and stir 4 min. or until crisp-tender. Add garlic; cook and stir 1 min. Add water, lentils and bay leaves; stir. Bring to boil; simmer on medium-low heat 20 min., stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in pasta sauce; simmer 15 min. or until vegetables and lentils are tender, stirring occasionally. Remove and discard bay leaves.
  • Blend soup, in small batches, in blender until desired consistency. Return each puréed batch to saucepan; cook 3 to 5 min. or until heated through, stirring frequently.

Serving Suggestion

Serve topped with sour cream and chopped fresh chives.
