  • Pancake Mix

  • Combine all ingredients except chocolate chips; spoon into 650-mL jar. Top with chocolate chips. Close jar with lid. Copy below directions and attach to jar. Store at room temperature until ready to use to make pancakes.
  • Cooking Directions

  • Whisk 2 eggs, 2 cups milk and 2 Tbsp. oil in large bowl until blended. Add Pancake Mix: whisk just until blended.
  • Ladle batter onto hot griddle or into hot skillet sprayed with cooking spray, using 1/3 cup batter for each pancake.
  • Cook on medium heat until bubbles begin to form on tops, then turn to brown other sides.

Serving Suggestion

Serve hot pancakes topped with maple syrup and/or fresh fruit.

How to Include the Pancake Directions

Write the directions for how to use the mix to make the pancakes on a large tag. Punch hole in each tag, then thread a piece of rustic twine or colourful ribbon through hole; attach to top of filled jar. Cover lid with a fabric square before screwing onto top of jar.
