I have made this recipe numerous times now...excellent..Our family and friends now have the recipe too. I prefer to use the baking potatoes, freshly cooked bacon and add mixed cheeses to the recipe and find this dish to be super easy...I wish I had this recipe when I was a newly wed in 1969!!
I used this make ahead recipe for Christmas dinner. Everyone enjoyed it but the best recommendations came from our son and son-in-law. Our son had three helpings on Christmas day. The next day we were at our son-in-law's for dinner and when talk turned to Christmas dinner his comment was that the best part of the meal had been "those great potatoes". Not bad considering all the other dishes we had.
