This hearty warm salad is the perfect side recipe to serve with grilled steak or chicken. Savoury pancetta adds a salty kick, while tender onions add extra flavour. Finish this salad off with zesty Parmesan and you're set!

  • Cook pancetta in large skillet on medium heat 8 to 10 min. or until crisp, stirring occasionally. Remove pancetta from skillet with slotted spoon; drain on paper towels. Discard all but 1 Tbsp. drippings from skillet.
  • Add onions to reserved drippings in skillet; cook 4 min. or until softened, stirring frequently. Add kale, cheese and dressing; stir. Cook 3 min. or just until kale is wilted, stirring frequently.
  • Top with pancetta.


Substitute 3 bacon slices for the pancetta; crumble over salad before serving.

Special Extra

Sprinkle salad with chopped fresh basil before serving.
